We often don't think about the operating systems and cloud services that power the everyday objects around us, like ATMs and kiosks, but Microsoft is hoping to change that thinking with its latest promo for Windows and Azure in the Internet of Things (IoT).

In the video above, Microsoft talks up its past with the IoT, noting that it's been powering devices all around us and "making the difficult look easy" for years. The video quickly pans through a number of IoT applications ranging from gas pumps and ATMs to sonogram machines and elevators before reiterating its goal goal of powering 25 billion IoT devices with Windows 10 and Azure by 2020.

There's no doubt Microsoft is looking to make a big splash with Windows 10 IoT, and it'll be interesting to see if the company can hit that 25 billion device mark five years from now. Be sure to check out the video above, and let us know what you think in the comments below.
