When Microsoft announced its new Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL smartphones last week, one thing that was lacking was first-party cases for those phones. Now the company has confirmed to Windows Central that it won't produce or sell its own cases for the new Lumia devices.
Here's Microsoft's official statement, from a company spokesperson:
"We have no plans to produce cases for Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL. However, third-party manufacturers are welcome to produce their own cases, and we can expect a variety will be available soon."
Indeed, that's already happening. As we reported last week, Finland-based Mozo and Sweden-based Krusell have already announced plans to sell their own Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL cases, which will be sold under a "Designed for Microsoft Lumia" logo with approval from Microsoft.
