Microsoft has promised it would add its Cortana digital assistant to its Xbox One console in 2016, and Xbox tech director Mike Ybarra offered a brief, but positive, report on its progress.

Answering a fan's question on Twitter on an update on Cortana Xbox One support, Ybarra stated:

Ybarra didn't offer any specifics on a release date for Cortana, but it's more than possible that the company will reveal more about its plans in two weeks as part of its Build 2016 developer conference in San Francisco. Microsoft has already confirmed that Cortana will require the use of its Kinect add-on for the Xbox One.
