Micosoft is retiering Skype for Windows Phone 7. It is no longer available for download from the Windows Phone Store. Additionally, users will find themselves unable to sign in within a few weeks, according to a post on the Skype blog:
As a result, within the next few weeks, you'll no longer be able to sign in and use Skype on any Windows Phone 7 device. You will still be able to use Skype on a variety of mobile platforms, including Windows Phone 8 or 8.1, but unfortunately, Skype will no longer be available in any form on Windows Phone 7.
Microsoft recommends that you cancel any Skype subscription plans you may have if you only use Skype on Windows Phone 7 and don't plan to switch platforms. You can also check to see if you're entitled to Skype Credit or a refund.
