Windows 10 introduced us to the new Microsoft Edge web browser that was created from the ground up to be the eventual replacement for Internet Explorer. A recent video on Microsoft's official Windows YouTube channel put the focus on the Microsoft Edge team, with several members talking about the development of the browser.
The team members talk about how they started creating Edge just over a year ago, basically from scratch, including a new engine. They also talk about how they used a number of different programming languages and applications, including some from the open source community, to help develop the browser.
The video also says the Edge team talks with other Microsoft teams, including the Xbox and Windows Phone groups, to help make the browser better. The Edge group also has regular meetings with Google, Mozilla and Apple so that their work might also influence the development of other browser. The video ends with a recruitment call for interested programmers who might want to join the Microsoft Edge team.
