Microsoft Garage's latest app takes the hassle out of searching your email inbox

The Microsoft Garage has been responsible for some pretty interesting experimental apps already, and its latest is no different. Called Email insights, the app is meant to make sifting through your email for the messages you want a much less arduous process. The ultimate goal, according to the team that built the app, is to bring email search closer to where web search is today.

On the outside, Email Insights looks like a strict, no-frills email app. While that's largely the case, the app packs some extra search juice as its main selling point. Here's a quick look at some of the main features of the app:

  • Light-weight email application focused on search.
  • Mix of Relevance and Recency based results.
  • Guided search through Email Autocomplete, Fuzzy person name search.
  • Commands for quick action.
  • Tabbed UI for convenience.

When put together, Email Insight's search prowess should help cut down on the amount of scrolling or keywords you have to remember to find the email you want. On top of that, you can also use the app's search box to perform quick tasks like sending one-line emails.

Intrigued? If so, you can grab Email Insights and give it a whirl for free now.
