Microsoft has decided to retire its Music Deals apps that it launched for Windows Phone and Windows 8.1 in October 2014. The apps were designed to alert Xbox Music owners if there were some price cuts on albums and songs on the service.
Now that Xbox Music has been renamed Groove Music, Microsoft is eliminating the Music Deals apps in favor of a more direct approach. The apps have been updated with a message that says:
"We're Moving! To the Windows Store. Our hot music specials are moving to the Windows Store. Find new steals and deals on great music every Friday. Come visit."
The message also has a link that takes users directly to the Windows Store website to purchase music. In short, all music sales and price cuts will have to be viewed at the Windows Store site from now on.
