Microsoft reveals Xbox FanFest details for E3 2017

Microsoft has announced the details surrounding its 2017 Xbox FanFest at E3, set to run from June 11 through June 13. In all, 500 fans will get a chance to participate in FanFest, getting an up-close look at the industry event and the Xbox's own E3 briefing on June 11.

Unlike years past, Microsoft has switched to a streamlined online registration process. Microsoft explains:

400 of the 500 tickets will be available first-come, first-serve starting this Wednesday, April 19. Tickets will be released in drops throughout the day, with the first drop starting at 6 AM PT. Stay glued to #XboxFanFest and @Xbox on Twitter for when those drops occur! Please note that you will need to have a credit card to hold the ticket. There is no charge to reserve a ticket but cancelation fees will apply. The remaining 100 tickets will be distributed through a variety of other promotions/giveaways.

Keep in mind that you'll have to be over the age of 21 and have an Xbox Live gamertag to participate.

In addition to attending the Xbox E3 briefing in Los Angeles, FanFest ticket holders will get a bit of gaming swag in a "custom-built backpack" as well. Microsoft also says attendees will get early access to Xbox exclusives, Project Scorpio, and more at a private event on June 12. For everyone else, you'll be able to livestream Microsoft's Xbox E3 coverage starting June 12 on your Xbox One, Xbox.com, on Xbox 360, and on the Xbox Twitch Channel.
