Earlier this morning, Microsoft began the global rollout of the New Xbox One Experience update for all of its Xbox One consoles. The company has now released one final video that looks at a few more features of the update.
In the video, Microsoft's Xbox Live programming head Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb chats with Mike Ybarra, the Director of Program Management at Xbox. The video shows that accessing the Friends list on the Xbox One is now much faster with the NXOE, as users can simply move the controller's thumbstick to the left to see list from the Home menu.
If a person wanted to invite friends to a game on the old Xbox One UI, they had to go through several steps to do so. The video shows that the NXOE allows players to stay in their game, and they can bring up their friends list as an overlay by tapping the Xbox button on their controller twice. Joining parties and checking notifications is also much faster with this update.
While the NXOE update is rolling out now, Microsoft is waiting until 12:01 p.m. PT (3:01 p.m. ET) to begin the rollout of its long-awaited backwards compatibility feature, which will allow over 100 Xbox 360 games to be played on the Xbox One.
