Microsoft skips out on the Toyko Game Show

Microsoft has opted to skip the Tokyo Game Show in 2015, as the company will instead be making other preparations to share the latest Xbox news with the media and fans. In both 2013 and 2014, Microsoft attended the event, but the company did also skip out in 2012. Masayuki Inoue of Microsoft Japan category marketing group issued the following statement:

"This year, Microsoft will not exhibit the Tokyo Game Show, but we're making various preparations to deliver the latest Xbox news to fans and media. We will provide an update as soon as we can."

This news comes a shortly after Microsoft stated that they were not giving up on Japan, despite record low Xbox sales in the area. It would appear as though Microsoft is planning something unique for this area, possibly in an effort to ramp up the console a bit more and draw some additional interest.
