Today's deal from the Microsoft Store as part of its 12 Days of Deals campaign is a free game with the purchase of a 4GB Xbox 360, but what about on Thursday, December 18? Today, the company revealed some deep price cuts planned for Windows 8.1 notebooks for that day only.
If you live in the US, Thursday's deal is for the HP Pavilion x2 notebook for $199 in-store and online, or $130 off its normal price. The same notebook will be sold for just $149 if you are one of the first 50 people outside a Microsoft Store location or one of the first 25 at a Microsoft specialty store. The 10.1-inch 2-in-1 notebook has a 1280x800 display that can detach from its keyboard and be used as a stand alone tablet. Inside there's an Intel Atom Z3745D processor with a clock speed of 1.33GHz, along with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of onboard storage.
Canadian shoppers can get a Dell Inspiron 15 for just $289, an $80 savings, on-line and in-store, and the first folks at a Microsoft Store physical location can get the same notebook for $249, a $120 savings. The 15.6-inch notebook has a 1366x768 display, an Intel Pentium N3530 processor with a clock speed of 2.16 GHz, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive.
