Microsoft continues to promote its Cortana digital assistant that it has included inside Windows Phone 8.1, with a new page on its official Windows Phone website that looks a little bit like a Match.com dating application.
The humor filled page gives the impression that Cortana has set it up herself so that users of Microsoft's latest OS can get to know it better. For example, it describes its perceived strengths ("I can sing, tell jokes, and make animal noises.") and even a few weaknesses ("I'm not much of a swimmer.").
It also presents some stats about itself, including its likes ("Getting it right, human ingenuity, AI ingenuity, long walks on the beach (from the safety of a pocket), and saying 'jicama.'") and dislikes ("Water, large magnets, ambiguous errors, noisy rooms and big jerks.")
There's little about Cortana that's really new on the page, but it does show how Microsoft is trying to present it as a more personal, and funnier, assistant than Apple's Siri. Microsoft just launched a new commercial that pits Cortana up against Siri.
What do you think about this new way to help promote Cortana via humor?
