Microsoft is apparently ramping up development of new games for both its Xbox and its upcoming Microsoft HoloLens devices. Today, it was revealed that John Needham, who previously headed up Microsoft's Lionhead Studios in the UK, has relocated to the company's Redmond, Washington headquarters to oversee development of new games for the Xbox and HoloLens.
The news, as reported by Engadget, added that Needham will report to Kudo Tsunoda, who previously worked on the the Kinect and HoloLens teams and is now in charge of many of Microsoft Studios' internal game development teams. Xbox head Phil Spencer will take overall charge of the division for both North America and Europe, now that former European Xbox chief Phil Harrison has departed the company to launch his new startup. Spencer will also take direct charge of the teams working on games for the Halo, Gears of War, Forza and Minecraft franchises.
