Mirror's Edge Catalyst social features shown in new trailer

Little over a month remains until Mirror's Edge Catalyst is released into the wild, with a closed beta hitting Xbox One and PC late next week. Following today's beta announcement, Electronic Arts has released a trailer giving us a look at the game's social features, making their series debut next month.

The Developer Diary showcases the new ways that Mirror's Edge Catalyst allows players to interact with one another, with a glimpse of the game's new web companion app, online gamemodes and gadgets. These features add a new online element to traditional Mirror's Edge gameplay and a competitive twist to the single-player experience.

These social features will be put to the test during the Mirror's Edge Catalyst Closed Beta, which commences on April 22nd.

Closed Beta participants will be able to try out several of the main missions in Faith's story, Side Missions, other optional content, and the Social Play features Mirror's Edge Catalyst has to offer. As with any beta, the experience will not be the same as the final product. The Closed Beta is a chance for us to gather your valuable feedback and test the Social Play and online systems before launch. We know that as community members, you will have invaluable feedback on the game and we look forward to your comments and reaction when the Closed Beta starts.

Mirror's Edge Catalyst releases May 24th on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Origin.
