MSI begins taking orders for the Vortex, its tiny Windows 10 gaming desktop

The tiny Windows 10 desktop from MSI, the Vortex, that was first revealed in January at CES 2016, is now available to order. The cylindrical case of the Vortex is just 10.5 inches tall but can pack in some hardcore PC gaming hardware inside.

MSI says of the Vortex:

"Minimal in footprint but maximum in performance, the Vortex features MSI's 360° Silent Storm Cooling technology to ensure extreme coolness under the most intense gaming sessions. MSI's cooling system creates a vortex-shaped wind path by capturing heat from the bottom of the unit and circulating it upwards, resulting in superior thermals and acoustics. The 450W 80 plus Gold power supply is also built into the Vortex to minimize space to completely power the system and any peripherals you want to connect."

MSI is shipping two models of the Vortex. One of them is priced at $2,199 and has an Intel Core i7-6700K processor, 16GB of RAM, a 256GB SSD, a 1 TB hard drive and dual GeForce GTX960 graphics cards in SLI modes.

The other model is priced at a whopping $3.999. It has the same processor and storage, but its memory goes up to 32GB, and it has dual GeForce GTX980 cards in SLI mode.
