Over a year after it was first announced, Microsoft has now officially opened its new and massive flagship retail store, located at 677 Fifth Avenue. The store, which is on the intersection of 5th Avenue and 53rd Street, kicked things off with a traditional ribbon cutting ceremony, followed by the drop of the store's inside cover to show the inside of the location with tons of screaming store employees.
The multi-story 22,369 square-foot store was opened by Microsoft's Chief Operating Officer Kevin Turner along with its Corporate Vice President of Devices Panos Panay. Panay is having a big day himself as two of his hardware devices, the Surface Pro 4 tablet and the Surface Book laptops, both officially go on sale today as well. People who got in line to go into the store will find some special deals inside, including the purchase of a new Xbox One without Kinect for $299.99, a refurbished Xbox One with Kinect for $199 and more.
Windows Central will be sticking around to film a proper video tour of the huge new store which we will be posting later today.
