The Windows 10 version of Age of Empires: Castle Siege adds deeper Xbox integration and more

Earlier this week, Microsoft announced that it had launched a Windows 10 version of its mobile strategy game Age of Empires: Castle Siege. However, the official blog post didn't really offer any details on the differences in the Windows 10 version, compared to the older Windows 8.1 port that launched nearly a year ago.

Thankfully, the official Age of Empires Twitter page was helpful in giving us a short list of what the Windows 10 version brings to the table:

  • There are a few primary differences: 1) Deeper integration with Xbox and the Xbox Hub on Windows 10.
  • 2) The game no longer runs in full screen only, allowing you to resize it in a window to multitask while you conquer.
  • 3) There is a special statue you can only unlock by running the Windows 10 version.
  • Gameplay is the same on every platform, to ensure a smooth cross-platform play experience.

So if you own Windows 10, you can download the new version of Age of Empires: Castle Siege with those additions now in the Windows Store
