Nokia 1020 official ringtone, message tone and alarm clock sounds get posted online for your ear pleasure

Lumia 1020

The Lumia 1020 is a brand new smartphone from Nokia. Not just a different flavour of one that's already available on the market, this new Windows Phone sports a 41MP camera and some other goodies. It surely deserves a new ringtone, message tone and alarm clock sounds, right? Nokia also believes so, which is why we've got these sweet new tunes to share with you.

The official ringtone has been altered numerous times in the past (remember the grungy remix?), but we approve of this new version, as well as the message tone and alarm clock:

Is it just me or does the sound cloud link not work? (on 920 fwiw)
Edit: had to use the classic mode on soundcloud

becauce the 925 has the new update right? They are similar to the ones on the 920, so I assume when I get the AMBER update I will get these,

Ugh me too. I'm really surprised it's taken this long, even freaking iOS has that ability and has for a couple years now.

Lol, I would like to have a white matte on the 1020 but after I hold the 925, I quickly realize that the L925 has lots of potential.

Seriously? The original version of the alarm tone is what I used on my N8, and I was pleasantly surprised that it was preinstalled on my Lumia 900.

The new Alarm Tone 2013 - I downloaded onto my N8 two days ago as a mp3, and I am going to install it onto my Lumia 900 as my new alarm tone.

Wakes me up successfully EVERY morning :)

I don't doubt it. I'm just bad at waking up. I could hit snooze for an hour. I need an alarm that's more hardcore, something that'll slap me around and throw water on my face!

Yeah...if they could allow ME to create my own sms and alarm tones instead of being forced to use the crappy ones that come with the Lumias...like Symbian allowed....that'd be great.

cool. i still prefer windows phone default tones , you can download more ringtones from windowsphone insider app by Microsoft

Has anyone noticed how in sci fi movies gadgets have all kinds of cool sound effects, but in real life the damn things are always playing obnoxious music?

These tones are nice, but they're still musical compositions. The problem I've found with the options on my Lumia is that they tend to either be too much or too little for a notification. They're either shrill and annoying or barely audible clicks. Finding a good ringtone that isn't music is an even bigger challenge.

I was unhappy with all the ringtones on my Lumia 920, so I plugged in my old HTC EVO and copied over the HTC "Standard 3" ringtone to my 920 and I'm using that now as my default ringtone for calls.

Soundcloud links never work. Example is when you try to view it on twitter or here through the WPCentral app

This phone keeps disappointing me. Pictures are way too noisy and all of the other features are getting ported to my 920.

The Nokia design team sounds via the excellent Audiocloud app are really interesting. Particularly the international competition tones and some of the classical pieces. Managed to refresh my tone library with quite a few of them.

Now if only we could use custom tones for message, email, alarm and notification. Heck, even the Motorola RAZR could do it.

I really don't see the 1020 as such an "all new phone" . Its an L920 with a huge camera upgrade, and GR2(which is already working its way out to the L920). Its an upgraded L920, and if they had called it the Lumia 950 no-one would have questioned it.

Look - I wish I had this phone.  BUT, it is NOT a brand new smartphone.  It is a 920 (a year old design) with a great camera upgrade.

A great camera upgrade, but a downgrade in other fields. (AMOLED screen, no wireless charging)

I have a 925 and noticed the change right away.  I actually miss the previous text sound and definitely the previous email sound (I can't hear the new email sound when at a normal volume).  As with others, I wish we could change other sounds, too.  The new alarm clock sound is cool, though.
