Nokia Refocus

Nokia has always been a pioneer in mobile photography. Devices like the Nokia Lumia 1520 and 1020 are just some of the latest examples of how Nokia continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible on mobile. Today at Nokia World 2013, we’ve just learned of how Nokia continues to plans on pushing the envelope with mobile photography. RAW support anyone?

Nokia has just announced that devices like the Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1020 will be gaining RAW camera support. RAW is the file format for the raw data from a camera’s sensor. It allows photographers full creative control over their final photograph by using programs like Lightroom and Photoshop. This is a big win for Windows Phone devices and the amateur and professional photographers who use it. Nokia Black will be responsible for RAW support. More info to come.

Another surprise, Nokia Refocus. This app will allow you to refocus on different parts of a photograph. Remember Nokia’s investment in Pelican Imaging? Yeah, it’s paying off now. We’ll see the app sometime in mid-November. In the meantime, head to to see the technology in action.

We’ll get more info and hopefully some hands-on with both of these amazing features for camera enthusiasts.
