Nokia prepares to let their Bloomberg Lumia app loose in the Windows Phone Store

WP Central

It looks like Nokia has hit the publish button on yet-another-exclusive app, this time it’s the Bloomberg Hub, bringing the latest in financial news and videos right to your phone.

Nokia gave a few screenshots of the app in question along with details of the features that it contains.  Some of those are..

  • Personalized news, portfolio tracking and breaking news alerts.
  • Customized watchlists for stocks, mutual funds, bonds, ETF’s and more.
  • Download your favorite Bloomberg TV and Radio shows to enjoy offline.
  • Deep pin Live Tiles for stocks, bonds, indices, futures and currencies.

In addition to all of that you get streaming video via Bloomberg TV and even audio while you’re on the go from Bloomberg Radio, including Bloomberg Surveillance with Tom Keene, A Closer Look with Arthur Levitt and The Final Word with Ken Prewitt.

While we’re not exactly that business savvy ourselves, we do know a lot of you Lumia owners are and this app looks to be as high quality as Nokia’s other co-sponsored apps.

We’ll keep you posted when the app does start to appear in the Store (aka Nokia Collection).

Nokia prepares to let their Bloomberg Lumia app loose in the Windows Phone Store

Because they have lots of money and more incoming. Regardless of what is better, Apple makes more money than everyone in the mobile phone space.

I'm continually impressed with the amount of effort Nokia continues to develop outside the hardware aspect of their business. Talk about going "all in". Great work.

ahh damn Verizon. I really wish I had a Nokia right now!! been waiting for this for a while; heaven forbid HTC shell-out a few bucks to help bring us apps like these.

This is exactly why Sammy & HTC will not garner a large share of WP8. They may have slighter better specs the Nokia but nowhere near the support. N920 here I come. And I've had the Focus & Focus S for WP7.

Funny, the ONE thing I have ever heard from Bloomberg was last week when a friend (who I have been trying to convert to WP from iPhone) told me last week (with a lot of smugness) he saw on Bloomberg that Nokia faked images from their new phones camera. :-/ He didn't care to hear the actual story. Don't get me wrong, the more apps and services the better but MAN!

yeah, Bloomberg West, their tech show, is essentially like an hour-long roundup of apple rumors + apple praise and admiration; kind of sad because they do really great reporting, just doesn't carry over to their programming..

Good stuff but I still can't install Paypal and my Lumia 900 and it's running the lates update.
Canadian MKP :(

This is awesome.  I've just switched (2 days ago) to a WP7 device in order to familirise myself a little ahead of purchasing the 920 when it comes out.  One of things I was lamenting about, was no Bloomberg.  This is the best news ever!!!  I am loving the effort Nokia are going to with this platform.  Cant wait for the 920!!

Yay! A professional app by Nokia. And I am happy Daniel is finally moving a bit away to noncasual apps (silly apps) and moving a bit closer to productive apps.
Daniel, can you sometimes review paid financial/noneducation productive apps, such as Marketwatch by LLC ?

Now just a CNET app... Or if nokia finally gets Pandora and makes an exclusive app... And instagram... And snapchat (whatever its called)... And stumbleupon... And more...

For me, I just want a CNET and Pandora app (I like MetroRadio, but many people like it to be the official one)

Nokia should make these the first Windows Phone 8 exclusive apps for the 820 and 920.
