This morning, we reported that Nokia’s DLNA streaming app Play To was not compatible with those people who are using Update 3 Preview from Microsoft. In the meantime, users will evidently have to wait until the Lumia Black firmware and proper Update 3 update rolls out.

Today though, Nokia has updated their secondary beta version of Play To. That app was released earlier for the Lumia 1520, but it has now been patched to work with the Lumia 1320 and Lumia 525—both new devices, just hitting the market. In addition, this new version also supports the Lumia 1020 and Lumia 925 with the Lumia Black firmware. Currently, that’s mostly for those on AT&T and T-Mobile (US), though presumably others will be getting it as well.

The latest release is now live in the Store. Here are the noted changes, some of which overlap with last week’s initial release.

Play To (Beta)

  • Support for all WP8 resolutions
  • Slideshow support for images
  • Improved UI simplifying the usage of Play to

Overall, the app is working quite well on our Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1020, so if you’re a fan of DLNA or even have an Xbox One, you’ll want to grab this app. Use it for streaming photos, videos or music to your favorite DLNA enabled device.
