Nokia's ESPN app updated, beefs up notifications

Nokia ESPN app

While the big news today was definitely the official launch of Windows Phone 8, Nokia was able to slide in an update to their ESPN app over the weekend.  The update mainly deals with increasing how you can be notified on scoring and news updates through the Live tile and toast notifications.

The update adds the ability to save and pin your favorite teams and sports to your Windows Phone Start Screen, customize the Live Tile score updates and you can now receive toast notifications for news and score updates.

Nokia ESPN App

All in all, the update helps the Nokia ESPN app keep you informed on game day when you might not be able to give the game your undivided attention. The Nokia ESPN app is an exclusive to the Nokia Lumia line of Windows Phones. It is a free app that you can find here at the Windows Phone Store or from the Nokia Collection on your Lumia Windows Phone.

Thanks, Brian, for the tip!

I like the pinning favourite teams feature. Overall the app is still a bit rubbish because every link just seems to load the espn mobile website

Cant set alerts on lumia 900. whenever i set the toggles to on and back out, they automatically reset to off. Any suggestions?

Morningstar today about Nokia:
Share price assumption at this moment: 2.40 euro (Nokia share is in Helsinki right now 2.06 euro, in New York 2.56 dollar)
Best scenario (if WP8 phones go well): the stock price will go to about 7.70 euro per share)
Worst scenario: no bankruptcy, because Nokia would be sold in parts before that.
Estimated price for this: intellectual properties over 1 euro per share;
other business parts (smartphones, featurephones, NSN) at least over 1.50 euro per share.
And NAVTEQ´s price not included (Nokia bought NAVTEQ with about 7 billion euro). All in all even in this case, Nokia share price would be at least over 2.5 euro. Pretty much like my thoughts and analysis.

Very cool!  Hopefully they have fixed the issues with standings not showing up as well as ocasionally scores. Looks like a good update though, just am waiting on AT&T to hurry up and release the 920 already!!
