Oculus founder and CEO Palmer Luckey has something he wants to say, and he's going to say it on Thursday, December 3. Luckey, who helped to create the upcoming Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, is set to make a "major announcement' on that day as part of The Game Awards 2015 streaming event, The awards will begin on that date at 9 p.m. ET and will be streamed across several different platforms, including Xbox Live. .
The news was posted by Game Awards founder and host Geoff Keighley on his Twitter feed today. It's possible that Luckey could finally reveal the specific launch date for the Oculus Rift headset, along with its final pricing and pre-ordering information. The company previously said it would launch the consumer version of the Oculus Rift sometime in the first quarter of 2016.
The Oculus Rift will be released with an Xbox One gaming controller. It will be designed to not only support Windows-based games but can also be used with the Xbox One and Xbox 360 streaming option with a Windows 10 PC.
