Microsoft's 11 year old Xbox 360 console has been losing many of its media apps over the past year, and now it has lost a major one. The ESPN app officially shut down its operations earlier this week.

The shutdown was noted by Deadspin, with a final notice stating that its many viewers should switch over to the Xbox One ESPN app. Launched in 2010, the app for the Xbox 360 was one of the first such media apps for the console and offered sports fanatics access to live and on-demand coverage of the network's shows and games, along with polls, trivia and even support for the Xbox 360's version of Kinect for gesture control.
