One of September's four free Xbox One games has been revealed

Earthlock: Festival of Magic, the turn-based fantasy RPG from developer Snowcastle Games, will be one of the four free games offered to Xbox Live Gold subscribers in September for the Xbox One console. It will be a part of Microsoft's Games with Gold promotion.

Earthlock will be launching on both the Xbox One and the PC (via Steam) on September 1 as well. The Norway-based Snowcastle Games worked for four years on the game and raised over $150,000 from crowdfunding on Kickstarter to help finance its development. Xbox Wire has a quick description of the game:

This westernized turn-based RPG, which in subtle ways reveals its Scandinavian origin, starts as a simple quest, but develops into a deeper journey. Play as Amon and join several unlikely heroes to save Umbra, a beautiful but harsh world that mysteriously stopped spinning thousands of cycles ago. Mix up your strategy to beat your enemies by crafting ammo and materials, harvesting elemental plants, and customizing your characters' talent tree.

The other three Games For Gold titles for September will be revealed by Microsoft sometime next week. Keep in mind that two of the games that will be announced will be Xbox 360 titles, but will be playable on the Xbox One via its backwards compatibility feature.
