Path will no longer support Windows Phone. The media sharing and messaging service has announced in an email newsletter to users that support will be dropped on December 31. That means there will be no more updates for the platform as we move into 2016.
Unfortunately, for those who rely on the app for Windows Phone, development for Android and iOS has been deemed top priority for assigned developers. Here's a copy of the email that was sent out to Path users:
"Thank you so much for your continued support of Path for Windows Phone. Unfortunately, we will be ceasing new updates for the Windows Phone version of Path starting December 31, 2015. This difficult decision was driven by our need to focus on delivering the best experiences possible on our most popular platforms, Android and iOS.
Most importantly, please know that your moments will always remain safe with us. If you have already installed Path on your Windows Phone, don't worry - you can still use Path after December 31, 2015. However, we will be removing Path from the Windows Store on that date, so if you or any of your friends haven't yet downloaded Path, please be sure to do so now."
If you've used the app in the past, or have yet to download it to try the service, be sure to act quickly before the Windows Store listing is pulled at the end of this month. Are you a user of the service, and will you be sad to see support dropped for Windows Phone?
A big thanks to everyone who tipped us!
