Pouch for Windows 8 - on sale for $1.49

A few days ago I sat down and reviewed one of my favorite news consumption apps, Pouch. The elegant Pocket client for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8 brings a clean and uncluttered reading experience to your favorite mobile devices.

The copy of Pouch for Windows 8 used in last week’s review was a private beta, not yet available to the general public. In anticipation of the upcoming software update, the developer has dropped the price of Pouch by 50% to $1.49.

The older generation of Pouch isn’t as nice as the copy we reviewed, but this is a great way to get the application at a low price and piggyback the free upgrade. We are told the price of Pouch will be returned to its normal $2.99 price tag once the upgrade is available in a few weeks.

You can purchase Pouch for Windows 8 here or if you first want to check out the review then you may do so here.

Genuine question: It Pouch any better than Weave? I bought the ad-free version. I love it, but I'm always open to alternatives.

In Limbo,
It's hard to say if Pouch was better than Weave, since they are built to do two different things.
Weave is a news curator app that pulls new articles down from sources selected by the user.
On the other hand, Pouch is an app to manage individual articles that a user wants to read later. If a user is browsing the web and comes accross a cool article on WPCentral (), but they don't have the time to read it then, they can save it to Pouch. Then later, when they have the time, they can easily find the article they wanted, and give it a read.
I hope this helps  lear things up.
Thanks,
Joshua (Pouch Developer)

That's actually a very awesome concept . . . which is why I'll be downloading it ASAP. Thanks for the prompt response. Look for my review buddy. Cheers!

In Limbo,
I will most definitely look for it! Thanks for your support!
(Where will I find the review when it's done?)
Thanks,
Joshua

Hey Michael,
I already have weave on my phone and nextgen reader on my surface. Would You still recommend pouch over these? Because I would like the unified experience
Greetings

chubibapao,

See my comment above for information regarding the difference between apps like Weave and Pouch.

Thanks,
Joshua (Pouch Developer)

Richicash,

Yes, if you want both, you do need to purchase them both. The WP8 and Win8 marketplaces don't allow for concurrent purchases. So just like Skulls of the Shogun, even though the two apps work together, you need to purchase them both.

Thanks,
Joshua (Pouch Developer)

I bought Pouch for my Win 8 laptop and I get this Unable to Set Image message.  What do  I do to fix this?

Jazmac,
Thanks for the purchase!
Sorry about that. That's a known bug. Don't worry, it'll be fixed in the next release.
Thanks,
Joshua (Pouch Developer)

Is anybody else having problems downloading apps, including this one, from the Windows store? On my Surface RT and my PC, things are incredibly slow over mutliple wifi connections and apps won't install. They error out with code 0x80070426 if the store ever responds at all.
