Twitter announced it is bringing a version of its social networking app to the Xbox One later today in a limited number of markets.

In a press release, Twitter said it would launch the Xbox One app in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It will support, among other things, live video streaming of special events, including 10 NFL Thursday Night Football games. It's not clear yet if the Xbox One version of Twitter is the same one that was launched for Windows 10 for PC and Mobile for the Universal Windows Platform.

The older Xbox 360 console also had a Twitter app, along with an official Facebook app. However, Microsoft removed both apps from the Xbox 360 when it launched its version of the Internet Explorer browser for the console.
