Red Dead Online beta launches in November

Today, Rockstar Games announced Red Dead Online. Red Dead Online is a connected online experience set against the backdrop of Red Dead Redemption 2's massive open world. According to the studio, this new version is an evolution of the classic multiplayer experience found in Red Dead Redemption.

Just like Grand Theft Auto Online, it blends competitive and co-op opportunities together. It will feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve the world for all players.

Red Dead Online won't be available when Red Dead Redemption 2 launches though. The multiplayer component will land in November 2018 as a public beta. Community support will be key to growing the experience. Access to Red Dead Online is free to anyone with a copy of Red Dead Redemption 2.

After a robbery goes wrong in the town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal, and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear them apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals or loyalty to the gang who raised him.

Red Dead Redemption 2 should launch on October 26, 2018 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 systems. The game achieves "4K Ultra HD" resolution on Xbox One X.
