Red Dead Redemption 2 finally launches on Xbox One

The day you've been waiting for is finally here. Red Dead Redemption 2, the long-awaited Western from Rockstar Games, is finally available on Xbox One. Better yet, the Xbox One X version is the only one which offers native 4K resolution.

After a robbery goes wrong in the town of Blackwater, Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang are forced to flee. With federal agents and the best bounty hunters in the nation massing on their heels, the gang must rob, steal, and fight their way across the rugged heartland of America in order to survive. As deepening internal divisions threaten to tear the gang apart, Arthur must make a choice between his own ideals or loyalty to the gang who raised him.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is around 106 GB on Xbox One, but it ships on two discs, so you won't have to suffer through a massive download in order to play it. The title starts at $59.99, but you can buy other editions which cost up to $99.99.

In our review, we said, "Despite some minor issues like stuttering in interiors, awkward camera angles in smaller houses, or the relatively slow start to the open world story campaign — Red Dead Redemption 2 simply overrides its small perceptible flaws with what is nothing short of a truly spectacular experience. Simply put, it is one of the best games ever made, setting a new standard for open world titles going forward."
