Microsoft may rebrand its previous Bing apps for Windows Phone and Windows 8.1, including Weather, News, Finance, Travel and Health + Fitness, with the new-old MSN brand sometime next week, according to a report from TechCrunch.
The story, which uses unnamed sources, points out that the MSN.com website has a massive audience of 400 million unique monthly visitors, including 100 million in the US. Microsoft may feel that rebranding the apps with that name will give them more visibility.
Microsoft removed the "Bing" brand from the titles of those apps back in April, and as we reported last week, Microsoft has already sent a notification to users of the Finance app that it will be getting the new name MSN Money in the very near future. Do you think it's a good idea to use the MSN brand name for many of Microsoft's in-house apps?
