Saavn is one of the leading music streaming services in India and has over 14 million active users across and Saavn for iOS and Saavn for Android apps. Saavn offers free music search and ad-supported streaming, and there's Saavn Pro subscription that allows offline listening without advertisements.

Earlier this month, Saavn announced closing $100 million in a new funding round led by Tiger Global Management. In a press release, the company announced that the fresh capital will be used to drive long-term product development and aggressive customer acquisition.

However, there was also a fleeting mention that the company is working with teams at Microsoft to launch Saavn on Windows in August 2015 (Thanks, @ryanext06 for the tip!).

On further prodding, I've learnt that Saavn is close to launching their Windows app, and the app would be officially announced at the Windows 10 launch event in New Delhi on July 29.

Of course, this would mean that the company is one of Microsoft's launch partners for Windows 10. We'll have to wait to see if it's a Windows 10 universal app that also works with Windows Phone devices. I'll be there at the launch event and will bring you all the updates from the ground. Are you looking forward to listening to your favorite music on the Saavn app?
