As development on the Xbox One and Windows 10 title Sea of Thieves continues, the team at Rare has been releasing regular looks into some of the more intriguing aspects of the game. In their latest entry in the video series, lead designer Mike Chapman and art director Ryan Stevenson sat down to discuss the terrain of the game's wide world and how that will impact player tactics. Check it out below:

The most recent update to the game landed for closed alpha testers just a week ago, and included a vastly expanded world and the game's first NPC enemies. Not only does the bigger world offer up more diverse environments, as noted in the video, but it also has an impact on the strategy and tactics player use to spot and sneak up on other ships.

The whimsical world of Sea of Thieves is set to hit Xbox One and Windows 10 as a Play Anywhere title sometime in 2017. In the game, you'll get to be a part of a crew as you work together to find treasure, sail and upgrade your ship, and take on not only other player, but the various critters and monsters of the world as well. The game is still in closed alpha at the moment, but you can sign up to become a Sea of Thieves Insider for a shot at testing the game yourself.
