Microsoft's Skype division is allowing people to use the service to make free mobile and landline calls to both Japan and Ecuador for the next few days. The effort is being made following major earthquakes that hit both countries over the weekend.
The announcement was made on Skype's official blog. Microsoft has offered free calls via Skype in the past to countries that have been hit with disasters or have fallen victim to terrorists attacks. Microsoft has not yet given a specific date for when the free Skype calls for Japan and Ecuador will end.
