A few weeks ago, Slack launched a beta version of its popular business-themed messaging app for Windows Phone. The company made this move very quietly; so much so that we thought at first that its public availability was in fact a mistake on their part. Now, Slack has officially announced the launch of the Windows Phone beta on its Twitter page.

The specific message is, "Windows Phone users rejoice! We just released a Slack public beta in the Microsoft Store." Yes, we know: Slack confused the Windows Phone Store, which has apps to download, with the Microsoft Store, which sells hardware and software both online and in its series of retail stores.

Even with this announcement, there has not been an update to the Slack public beta since August 20. Hopefully we will see that change in the very near future.
