The Softcard website has now updated its FAQ page announcing that it will end support for its mobile payment apps, including the ones it released for Windows Phone just a few months ago, on March 31.
Google bought the technology behind Softcard in late February and Softcard quickly announced that the Windows Phone app will be "terminated" as a result of the acquisition. At the time we didn't have a specific date but now we know that the app will be closed on March 31, along with the Android version.
Softcard launched its first Windows Phone app for AT&T users in early November, followed a couple of weeks later by the Verizon version. A Softcard Windows Phone app for T-Mobile customers was announced but, obviously, this version will never been released.
