Update: According to Chris Walsh on Twitter, the update listed in the Surface history pages is not new but rather just readvertised for people who had issues with the Camera driver updates

Microsoft is rolling out firmware updates for its Surface Pro 4 tablet and its Surface Book 2-in-1 notebook. Both products are receiving the exact same updates.

Here's what owners of those devices can expect when their Surface product downloads the firmware updates, according to Microsoft's Surface software history page:

  • Surface Camera drivers set (v30.10586.7035.1976, driver date 4/21/2016) improves Windows Hello stability.

  • Intel(R) Control Logic driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)
  • Intel(R) CSI2 Host Controller driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)
  • Intel(R) Imaging Signal Processor 2500 driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)
  • Microsoft Camera Front driver update (v30.10586.7035.1976)

Microsoft is likely to release a number of software and security updates for many of its product today, as part of its monthly "Patch Tuesday" event.
