OMG: Our Manic Game didn’t exactly set the gaming world on fire, but it did hold the distinction of being the only shoot-em-up available when Windows Phone 7 launched back in 2010. Its best feature is its neon-colored vector art, a style later seen in games like geoDefense and BulletAsylum. OMG has two major strikes against it though. One is a control bug that prevents the player’s ship from staying at the bottom of the screen. Worst of all, it’s not compatible with Windows Phone 8.

Unfortunately, it looks like neither of those problems will ever be fixed. Arkedo Studio, the French studio behind Our Manic Game, has ceased game development. Read on to learn what the future has in store for both the developer and their Xbox Windows Phone game.

Many Windows Phone gamers are familiar with French developer Arkedo’s WP7 launch title, OMG: Our Manic Game. It’s not their best work, but still a pretty little shoot-em-up. Fast forward to this year and Arkedo has actually just released their best game yet (with the help of SEGA as publisher): Hell Yeah! Wrath of the Dead Rabbit for Xbox Live Arcade.

We’ve got full impressions of both Hell Yeah! and Jet Set Radio after the break, plus more SEGA XBLA news!

The Xbox Live Deal of the Week program appears to be slowly making its way through all of the Windows Phone launch titles, temporarily knocking one or two dollars off of each game. The latest game to get the discount is OMG: Our Manic Game from Arkedo Studios. It’s on sale for $1.99, down from $2.99. Oh my gosh!

OMG is a vertically-scrolling shooter featuring neon-colored vector graphics. The player’s ship constantly fires, while tapping enemies makes them become manic and unleash a hail of extra fire. The game has got both Infinite and 5 Minute modes to blast through.  Our OMG review notes that it’s a bit light on content (as with many launch titles) but still plenty of fun. The gameplay is a little too plain for me, but if you’re into shooters, it’s currently the only Xbox Live game in town.

OMG is on sale for $1.99 for like, one week only. You can totally get it here (Zune link) on the Marketplace!
