File this headline under late-breaking, but Citi Cards (online.citibank.com) has finally released their popular app for Windows Phone 8 and 8.1 users. According to our forums, Citi started exploring building an app for Microsoft's platform 11 months ago, and today, it is live and ready for download.

Citibank is currently one of the top credit card and financial institutions around, and Windows Phone tends to have a gap when it comes to official banking apps, especially in Western markets. Bringing 128-bit encryption the Citi Cards app lets users log in and fully manage their accounts without using the web browser.

Mint arrives for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.1

Official apps for Mint.com now available for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.1 (US + Canada residents only)

In early March, Mint (Mint.com) famously stated that they had no plans for a Windows Phone app. Then in June, they had a change of heart (and probably some help from Microsoft) as the company announced that their financial app was headed to both Windows 8 and its Phone counterpart. Fast forward to last month and private beta testing had begun and starting today, December 4th, everyone can have Mint on their favorite Windows device.

For those who aren’t aware, Mint.com, which is now owned by Intuit (Quicken, TurboTax), is considered the must-have financial aggregation app. The service taps into any and virtually all of your institutions like banks, loans, investments, credit cards, etc. and then gives you an overview of your current status. Track your spending, plan to save money, see where your dollars are going and more.

Mint is a simple, elegant solution to a complicated monetary world. And now, Windows Phone 8 and Windows 8.1 users can take advantage of the free service.

Looks like it's not just those Bing apps that are getting released today as the Wells Fargo banking app is now finally available for Windows Phone 8. Ever since Bank of America, Chase and numerous other financial institutions released their apps over the last two years, we’ve been hearing requests for Wells Fargo—now those wishes have been answered.

The Wells Fargo app is everything you’d expect from a modern banking institution -  it allows you to check account balances, pay bills, send money, make balance transfers, deposit checks, and track investments.

Wells Fargo, a bank and financial services establishment in the US, is reportedly developing a Windows Phone app. We've covered numerous other banks in multiple markets releasing apps for the platform, but it's always good to see further support rising from the ground. Wells Fargo currently has solutions for Android, BlackBerry, iOS and even Palm OS, so it only makes sense for Windows Phone to be included.
