Phototastic is a feature rich Windows Phone photography app that is part photo editor and part photo-collage builder.  For those who like working from a larger screen, Phototastic is also available for Windows 8 devices as well.

To celebrate the New Year, the developer has slashed the price of the Windows Phone version in half.  It also appears that the in-app purchases on the Windows 8 version has been bundled and discounted.   Through January 1, 2014, the Window Phone version will be discounted to $1.49 (regular price $2.99).

Diptic, a collage creator for Windows Phone that we have covered a couple of times already, has just received an update that is going to make a lot of people happy. Version 1.0.1.0 adds compatibility for low-memory devices! Many of you have complained, so this is great news.

This means you should now be able to install Diptic on devices like the HTC 8S, Ascend W2, Lumia 520, Lumia 620, and Lumia 625

Phototastic is a handy Windows Phone and Windows 8 photography app that focuses on photo collage building.  Phototastic also has some nice editing tools to let you make the most of your collage building skills or just give your individual photos a little flair of its own.  Once built, the collage can be shared or used as your Windows Phone lockscreen.

The Windows Phone version of Phototastic was recently updated to version 2.9 which adds new frame backgrounds, new stickers that includes photos, and several user interface changes.

An app that’s already on Android and iOS devices just made its way to the Windows Phone Store. Diptic lets you easily create photo collages and share them with friends. It’s a simple app, but with extra features for those who want to do more with their collages. We put the app in front of our camera to show you how it looks on our device.

Head past the break to watch our walkthrough video.

While there’s no shortage of solid photo editing apps for Windows Phone 8, for those who are about ot plunge in with the Lumia 1020 (or if you picked up a Lumia 925 this week), you’ll want to know what is the best. Certainly Nokia’s own Creative Studio is a must have but it’s also not as fully comprehensive as some may want.

Fotor, an app we’ve covered in the past, has gone to version 2.0 today and it has received quite a nice overhaul. So nice in fact that we’re calling it the top photo editing app you can get right now. Best of all? It doesn’t cost a dime. Completely free and as far as we can tell, no ads either.

The standout feature of Fotor is its design. It’s gorgeous. If you’re a fan of the Modern UI as much as we are, then you’ll be delighted with the Live Tile and when you launch the app. Upon starting her up, you’ll be greeted with two big buttons: Edit or Collage (check out these other collage apps) Edit takes you to your photo library and Collage lets you select various templates from two-photo collages up to a whopping nine.

Memorylage is a photography app for your Windows Phone 8 device that lets you view your photo albums in collage style, create collages, share your photos and use them as your lockscreen collage-styled wallpaper. It's a nice alternative to the native Pictures Hub and was recently updated to version 1.2.

The update brings a handful of new features and performance tweaks. Lockscreen collages can now be automatically generate (you can still manually create them) and updated periodically from your collage library. You can now adjust the margin between images and select which photo albums you want the collage generator to pull the photos from.

Pic Stitch is a relatively new Windows Phone collage builder with a built in photo editor. It's a fairly simple app that has a nice selection of collage templates that can be customized along with a photo editor powered by Aviary (much like you see in Instagraph and other Windows Phone photography apps).

Pic Stitch is a decent photo app for Windows Phone 8 with the only real downside being that it lacks a trial version.

Memorylage is a nifty Windows Phone 8 app that taps into your Pictures Hub as an alternative viewer for your pictures. Memorylage displays the galleries in collage form and has the ability to create collages from selected images that can be used as lockscreens or shared as stand alone images.

The version 1.1 is more or less a maintenance update that addresses issues that were present in the original release such as fixing the caption of the lockscreen button in the Photo Booth, fixed a color theme issue, and dealt with some stability issues. While fixes are in place, you also get a few new features added to the mix.

Memorylage for Windows Phone 8 is now live

Memorylage, a photo viewer for your Windows Phone 8 device, is now available in the Windows Phone Store.

Memorylage presents your photo albums in collage format, has a photo booth feature to create new collages and the ability to create collages from existing photos that can be used as lockscreen wallpapers.

Memorylage is a popular Windows 8 app that is due to hit the Windows Phone Store in the next few days. We were given an advance copy of the Windows Phone 8 app to run through the wringer and found it to be an interesting photo app.

Memorylage is a photo viewer, much like the native Pictures Hub on our Windows Phone.  The app presents our photos in a collage fashion (hence the "lage" suffix) along with a few tools to build custom collages as well.  Memorylage comes across as a very nice alternative (maybe supplement is a better choice of words) to the native Pictures Hub.
