QuizUp is a very popular iOS quiz game that let’s friends compete against each other in real-time. Not only can you play against friends, but you can play against strangers and rank up points. Another great feature in QuizUp is that those games don’t have to be played in real-time. You can challenge a friend to a game, play and complete it, and they can play that same game later when they have time. We don’t have an official QuizUp app on Windows Phone yet, but we will have one soon thanks to Windows Phone developer Daniel Gary. He’s working on QuizIt, a QuizUp client for Windows Phone. Check out the video of the current state of the app.

A few days ago we asked you guys and gals what apps were still missing from the Windows Phone Store. The response was overwhelming. At the time of this writing there are over 2000 comments, which means there are a handful of apps you still want to see make the jump to Windows Phone. I have a few personal favorites that I still want to see come to the platform, one of them is QuizUp. Not familiar with the game? No worries, we’ll go over it after the break. We don’t have any word on whether or not on official app is coming, but we do know that überdeveloper Daniel Gary is working on an unofficial client for Windows Phone. Let’s go over what QuizUp is and take a first look at Daniel Gary’s version called QuizIt.

Guess what, Android and iOS may have official versions of Instagram, but they don’t have choices. On Windows Phone we have two solid apps to go with right now, 6tag and Instance. 6tag is the newcomer to the scene, while Instance has been around for quite a bit longer. Instance was the first app to bring direct uploads to Instagram on Windows Phone. Daniel Gary, the developer, has been hard at work on the next version of Instance. So let’s take a look at it.

Instagram has evidently made one more change, hopefully the last, to their API for publishing photos to the service. We can now confirm that users can upload to the network using third party apps like Instance, and that those photos are public (unlike the last change). That’s an improvement from yesterday, where posting was blocked only to return later, but with photos marked as ‘private’.

At this point, it is unclear if Instagram is reversing course out of good will or if this was part of their plan, with the side effect of monkeying with third-party apps. Regardless, if you have Instance on your Windows Phone, you should be able to directly post without any compromises. No telling how long that will last though.

We told you on Friday about Swapchat, the new unofficial Snapchat that is due within the next week or so for Windows Phone 7.x and 8. That app currently allows photos (but not yet videos) to be posted directly to Snapchat and you can even screenshot at will.

We also told you about another developer who was working on an unofficial app for the popular message-expiring service. That developer is none other than Daniel Gary, the man behind Instance (formerly, Itsdagram), the first fully featured Instagram client for Windows Phone.
