Dark Lands is a popular fantasy game for Windows Phone.  It combines elements of an endless runner game with a dash of a role-playing combat game.  As the game approaches the 800K download mark, the developers are looking to expand.

To help fund the cost of development the developer is set to start a Kickstarter campaign on January 28th.  Additionally, while we have seen special free offers for Dark Lands in the past, the developer is planning to permanently set the game price at free.

We first mentioned Dark Lands a few months ago. It's an action/adventure game for our Windows Phone that is being developed by Mingle Games and is one of the many projects associated with the Microsoft/Nokia sponsored AppCampus.

Dark Lands is an infinity running game that also has elements of a fighting and RPG game. A battle runner game if you will.

We have been given access to the beta version of Dark Lands and it makes a very admirable first impression. Graphics are well drawn up, game play challenging, and controls nicely responsive. It's a fast paced game that should appeal to many.

We made mention the other day of Dark Lands, a Windows Phone game under development and sponsored by the Microsoft/Nokia AppCampus. Dark Lands is an infinity running game with a combat and RPG element.

In a nutshell, you run your character through various obstacles, collecting gems to use for upgrades and stopping along the way to battle monsters, soldiers and other enemies. We've gotten our hands on a short video snippet of game play and again, the game looks good.

Dark Lands is an action/adventure game under development for Windows Phone that has you playing the role of a warrior tasked with running a gauntlet of sorts battling monsters and avoiding death traps.

Dark Lands is the creation of independent developer Mingle Games, who isn't a stranger to mobile gaming with several games available over on the iOS and Android platforms. The independent developer also has one title in the Windows Phone Store (Save the Birds) and is part of the Microsoft/Nokia sponsored AppCampus that is also bringing us Project Tripod.

In contrast, Dark Lands is... well... a darker game than Save the Birds that, based on what little we've seen, makes a very nice first impression.
