First impression

As we noted earlier this morning, the Nokia Lumia 925 with its aluminum body and 8.7MP PureView camera went on sale today on T-Mobile, giving customers on that network their first shot at a high-end Nokia Windows Phone.

The device retails for $49 (with a 2 year repayment plan) or $550 outright and could be bought in stores or online, which ever you prefer.

We told you earlier that we’d do an unboxing and give you our first impressions of Verizon’s new flagship Lumia, the 928. The device is due any day now on the carrier for $99 on contract and while it’s not the sexiest Lumia we’ve handled, as Han Solo once quipped: she has it where it counts, kid.

The Lumia 928 features a stunning 4.5” AMOLED display, the same highend PureView camera as the Lumia 920 but with a bonus Xenon flash, a high quality rear speaker with digital amplifier and a unique design that only Verizon users will get to experience. It’s a Lumia 920 but refined: thinner and easier to handle.

Since we’re heading off into the weekend we figured we’d leave off with our quick impression of the Samsung ATIV Smart PC 500T Tablet. Whew, that Samsung does not mind a long name, for sure.

So why are we doing this? Same reasons as always (1) I bought one this week (2) many Windows Phone users are also shopping around for tablets/hybrids and PCs. Let us be the guinea pig to test ‘em out for ya.

Our Nokia Lumia 520 just showed up on our door steps today, so we figured we’d share the news with the largest Windows Phone audience in the world. 

For those who don’t remember, the Lumia 520 was announced by Nokia a few weeks back in Barcelona during the Mobile World Congress. It, along with the Lumia 720, represents the completion of Nokia’s “range” of Lumias.
