Mehdoh updated to 1.4, brings more support and fixes

Mehdoh, the lightweight Twitter app for Windows Phone, has been updated to version 1.4. We took a look at Mehdoh being the Twitter app that was Mango-ready out of the box. It features flipping live tiles with push notifications. So, what's new in 1.4?

  • Option to select how many tweets to fetch
  • Ability to fill gaps in the timeline
  • Fix for vanishing live tile mention/message count
  • Reworked new tweet screen. now also supports landscape
  • Support for twitvid image uploading
  • Support for molo.me inline image hosts

Mehdoh is a superb little Twitter client that's over-shadowed by the big brand names like Birdsong and the official Twitter app. You can download Mehdoh from the Marketplace for $0.99.

Thanks @techjunky79 for the heads up!

A fix has surfaced for those having trouble sending or receiving MMS messages on the Dell Venue Pro using the AT&T Network. As one would suspect, it's a settings issue but you first have to pull up the diagnostic screen.

While we've haven't heard of any horror stories in tweaking these settings, please keep in mind that you proceed at your own risk. Here are the steps.

  • From your Dell Venue Pro, bring up the dial pad and enter ##634# to bring up the diagnostic screen.
  • Tap on MMS Settings.
  • Scroll to the MMS Settings section.
  • The settings should be Name: ATT MMS (all caps), APN: wap.cingular, MMSC: http://mmsc.cingular.com, MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com, MMS Port: 80, Username: (leave blank), Password: (leave blank).
  • Scroll up to the Auth Type, tap CHAP, and then Apply.

You should then get a "Success, Setting is Done!" message. Tap OK, then tap HOME and you should now be able to send and receive MMS messages from your Dell Venue Pro. There have been some reports that you need to restart the phone to get the settings changes to take hold.

HD/HQ issue fixed with YouTube Apps

The other day we reported that YouTube client apps such as Supertube and LazyTube lost the ability to stream or download HD/HQ videos from Youtube. The problem stemmed from YouTube changing resource addresses of videos.

Fortunately, the developers of these fine Windows Phone applications were already working on a solution. Both Supertube and LazyTube have updated versions available to once again allow you to enjoy HD/HQ videos from your Windows Phone.

"YouTube", Lazyworm's free version still has an update pending certification with Microsoft that will fix this issue. We are told that update should be pushed out very soon.

You can find the updated version of Supertube here and LazyTube here (both links open Zune) over at the Marketplace.

Thanks goes out to Atta and Kevin for the tips!
