Make $100 by buying T-Mo Radar?

What could be better than a free WP7 phone?  How about making $100 on the deal?!  T-Mobile is running a promo on their WMDeals site where you can pick up a 4G HTC Radar for free (after rebate) with a 2-year agreement.  The phone comes with free 2-day shipping and no activation fee.

While this is reason enough to grab one, we are catching word that if you go through their trade-in page and enter the promo code "MSMango" you will receive a guaranteed $100 for any phone that you trade in, even something as simple as an old flip phone, as long as it is in working condition.  According to reports, the $100 comes in the form of a check that is mailed out after the phone is received.

If you are looking to upgrade, or get into the WP7 game, the HTC Radar is a solid phone, especially for this price.  We have not confirmed any of this, so by all means, let us know if it works.

If you wanted the new HTC Radar 4G on T-Mobile (and it is a pretty sweet phone, we have one in our hands as we speak), you'll want to take a look at getting it through Wirefly. They have it for the low-low price of $49.99 for either new service, new line or your upgrade, should you have one waiting.

To put that price in perspective, T-Mobile-direct advertises the device as $99 with a new contract, but alas, it's actually $150 with a $50 mail-in-rebate. We say "boo" to those and would rather just pay $50 direct to Wirefly and call it a day.

We'll have a review up of the Radar 4G in a few days, but so far we're impressed with the device--solid build, beautiful screen and fast. Shame about that 8GB of storage though.

T-Mobile customers looking to jump on the Windows Phone bandwagon or replace an HTC HD7 are in luck, as you can now purchase the HTC Radar 4G from T-Mobile’s site. We originally reported that the Radar would launch on November 2nd, which is this Wednesday. Presumably if you were to buy the phone today, it would arrive on Wednesday, so T-Mobile isn’t breaking their release date so much as offering release date shipping.

The Radar’s store page description:

"With the HTC® Radar™ 4G, you can stay in touch with friends, work contacts, and social networks on the fly; easily capture life’s moments with a 5 megapixel camera; and share in a flash on America’s Largest 4G Network®.

• 4G capable for blazing-fast speeds
• Preloaded HTC® Watch™ and T-Mobile® TV for TV and movies on the go
• Now with Windows® Phone 7.5"

The HTC Radar 4G is $99.99 after $50 rebate with a 2-year contract. Hop over here to order it.

Windows Phone advertisements are popping up all over the place lately. Check out the above ad for the HTC Radar which one of our readers spotted while using Skype.

Seeing as how Skype calling and videoconferencing is coming to Windows Phone later this year and how Microsoft, you know, owns the company, it’s a great example of advertising synergy. If this sort of thing keeps up, Windows Phone may soon achieve brand awareness among the common man - or at least collage artists.

Thanks Zanch for the tip!

HTC advertising in Norway

While HTC and Phones4U make a difference in the UK, we have Telenor, Norway's largest carrier, advertising the HTC Radar in a Norwegian newspaper. The photo above, sent in by a reader, shows the HTC Radar available on contract. Looking at the Telenor website, we can see the Radar is also available unlocked for 3,099kr (£349).

HTC is going big with promotion and advertising for their Titan and Radar handsets. We've seen their commercial being aired on prime time TV, full page newspaper adverts and Phones4U has also been publishing advertising material in newspapers. We're aware of HTC and Samsung investing more funds in promotion, but it's good to see a store take part with the above photo from a Phones4U store in Norwich, UK. Purchasing the Titan will earn you 800 MS points and 12 a month Xbox Live subscription.

Thanks Joseph for sending the photo in!

We understand some folks on T-Mobile are a little miffed about not getting the Titan and instead have to "settle" for the Radar 4G. We disagree a little bit, having handled the Radar and knowing what a svelte device it is.  We also know that these second generation devices have better internal hardware, a faster CPU, newer more powerful GPU and better screens to name a few differences.

In this case, WP7.com.pl has put the HD7 next to the Radar for a side-by-side speed test. While it should be of no surprise that the Radar wins easily, it's still certainly interesting to see the margin of difference. Needless to say, a lot of us will enjoy that extra speed boost that the Radar gives, even if it still only has a 1GHz CPU (but newer build).

HTC Titan and Radar coming to Taiwan

Today HTC announced that its island home of Taiwan will be seeing the HTC Titan and Radar in the very near future.  The Titan, HTC's new flagship phone, is set to hit shelves later this month at a retail price of Tw$18,900 ($619.67).  The Radar, its lower price point counterpart, is expected in November and will fetch Tw$13,900 ($455.74).

Taiwan joins the expanding Mango marketplace, along with India, who gets official Windows Phone support today.  you can bet that both will see their fair share of the bump in marketing recently promised by WP7 phone manufacturers like HTC.

We reported a few days ago that Microsoft India was set to officially launch Windows Phone there and sure enough, that day has come.

Over at the site I Love Windows Phone, Abhishek Baxi live blogged the event where all the details were revealed. The first device to launch there will be the HTC Radar, which will fetch for Rs 23,990, followed by the Samsung Omnia W  (Rs 19,900) and Acer Allegro in November, all with Windows Phone 7.5 "Mango" on board.. Not bad for a launch selection at all, but no word on Nokia at this time.

In addition, two localized apps were shown off: Times of India and SnapDeal, which should make some folks happy to have those on board.

Joining Digitec today is Expansys in Canada, who is now also shipping the HTC Titan and Radar. What's more is according to the Expansys Top 20 best selling handsets this week, the HTC Titan is ranked number 2 behind the Samsung Galaxy S II Android device. Not bad!

If HTC isn't your cup of tea, remember that Expansys is stocking the Omnia W too for Europeans.

Digitec shipping HTC Titan and Radar

We were already aware that Digitec were pushing Windows Phone with their mobile prospect for October, featuring some handsets with the HTC Titan on the front cover, but now we've got word that the retailer is shipping both the Titan and Radar from online ordering. Fantastic news should you reside in Switzerland!

Digitec has priced the Titan and Radar at CHF 599 ($663) and CHF 399 ($442) respectively.

We've received a tip that Digitec, a major online retailer in Switzerland, appears to be pushing Windows Phone quite hard according to their mobile prospect for October 2011. Giving two pages (at the front of the prospect) to the HTC Radar and Samsung Omnia W, which both look superb.

The HTC Titan is also available should you dive into the carrier section (page 16 onwards). It's also featured on the front cover of the prospect itself, fantastic to see a retailer providing Windows Phone some room for promotion.

It seems HTC and Phone4u have decided to jump the gun and release the HTC Titan and Radar earlier than what was stated as the release date - possibly to combat the iPhone. The two handsets were originally said to be available October 7th for ordering via the UK retailer website, which we found aberrant as the devices are readily available in stores.

One can find both the Titan and the Radar ready for order and shipping on the Phones4u website, or you can check into your local store for a more hands-on purchase. Contracts are available with the cheapest being Orange with the Radar at £23.50/mo and Vodafone with the Titan at £31/mo.

Thanks Ross for the tip!

Update: Our tipster just confirmed the purchase of an HTC Titan from Phones4u.  He did share this pic of his new phone before relegating it to the charger.

HTC Radar available at MobiCity

Good news for those who reside in Australia and are eagerly awaiting the HTC Radar handset, MobiCity is now stocking HTC's Mango-powered white gem and it's available for purchase at $549.99. It's not tied to any network (unlocked), is available in white or silver and is ready to ship on order. Unfortunately when choosing a free accessory, the HTC dock isn't listed (due to delay?) and it's not Telstra NextG compatible showing that this could well be an imported model.

If you're a power house fan, then the HTC Titan will be more up your street, but is still tied to pre-ordering for now.

Good news for those on T-Mobile wanting the HTC Radar 4G--the device has successfully cleared the FCC, meaning it's in T-Mobile's hands now to approve it on their network and get it stocked for shipping.

The 3.8" screen, "4G" speeds and slick front and rear cameras make this is a solid middle of the road offering on T-Mo, especially with that white eye-catching color. The only other interesting info from the FCC docs that we can see is the model number: P106110. So if you see that number anywhere else, you know what phone its referring to.

Hopefully with those Mango updates coming this week, T-Mobile will get this phone out the door sooner than later. AT&T has the Focus S FCC cleared as well, so it looks like these two are aiming for the same time frame.

Look at that, just a few hours after we posted about the Radar 4G existing and then speculating that it was destined for T-Mobile, pics of that device come forward. And we were right.

There's not too much else to know: it's a 3.8" screen device with a metal unibody design, 5MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front-facing one for video. While the Euro version is just 3G, those in the U.S. will be getting 4G as seen in the shot above. No word on release date or pricing, but obviously this thing is close--TmoNews is hearing "October/early November". This is the only confirmed Mango device for T-Mobile so far, but perhaps there is room for a Titan as well?

See more pics at TmoNews.
