We know that Lync Mobile for Windows Phone or just 'Lync 2010' is wanted by many, being one of the most anticipated apps this year. In fact, we saw it in action at Nokia World and heard a few weeks ago that its availability was imminent. By allowing workers to stay connected via the mobile phones, employees can now easily initiate conference calls, meetings and keep in touch all within the tightly controlled Microsoft Lync system for enterprise.
So it's a good sign that we've been able to actually see it in the Windows Phone Marketplace but alas, you can't actually download it just yet. Evidently, if you click on a meeting request URL in Internet Explorer 9 on your phone, you get the above dialog screen, asking if you want to download the app. You are then taken to the Marketplace where the app description and screenshots are visible.
In other words, Microsoft has the deep linking already in motion for Lync Mobile, they're just waiting for the go ahead to actually publish. Massive teaser, yes. But at least you know you should have this app well before Christmas.
