NFC Writer

Red Bull is one of those companies constantly kicking ass and doing crazy things. Between dropping a man from the edge of space, Flugtag, and winning Formula One events there isn’t much they don’t have their hands in. They also have a handful of apps in the Windows Phone Store. One of them, World of Red Bull, is part of the Nokia Collection and allows fans to stay up to date with everything Red Bull does. Speaking of the Nokia Collection, another app was recently updated. NFC Writer allows for users to modify and edit NFC tags and was just updated. Let’s check out both apps.

Nokia has bumped the NFC Writer app for Lumia Windows Phones to version 1.0.0.57. The first change we've noticed is the product link for grabbing more tags off Amazon now works in the UK (we've noticed the app crashed when selecting the link). That said, there have been reports that the app is continuing to cause problems for consumers with crash reports coming in regarding the purchase link. Looks like Nokia has to have a deeper look.

Nokia has updated its NFC Writer app for Lumia Windows Phones. Version 1.0.0.550 sounds as though it was a minor bump and you'd be right to assume such a thing. The only notable difference we can spot is the addition of a "NFC Tags" entry on the main menu. This loads a screen that explains why users should purchase and use official NFC tags from Nokia.

We’re still trying to get to bed here in Barcelona, but that hasn’t stopped Nokia from releasing new apps to their Collection.

The latest is NFC Writer, which is exactly what it sounds like: a clever app to write to blank NFC tags specific functions or tasks. We’ve seen similar apps before, like the excellent NFC Launchit, but for some Nokia users they may prefer the more streamlined design of NFC Writer.
