The latest crop of Windows Phones, the Nokia Lumia 920 and HTC 8X, bring together some of the latest technology with their cameras. Windows Phone cameras have progressed nicely through the years. We've seen new sensor technology to improve low-light performance, better software enhancements, and new stabilization mechanics come into play.

While the Nokia Lumia 920's Pureview camera has garnered a good bit of the Windows Phone 8 spotlight, the HTC 8X's camera has been lurking in the shadows. The 8X has a capable camera within its own right but how does it compare to the Lumia 920's heavy weight camera?

Nokia has yet to release a report detailing Lumia 920 sales, and until that time is upon us we can only speculate and estimate what said numbers will actually be. There's much anticipation to see whether Nokia has received such high levels of demand that the well established manufacturer simply cannot build enough Lumia 920s to throw at retailers and carriers, or we're simply seeing low levels of stock being produced at launch.

According to a report over at Yahoo China, pre-ordered (and purchased) Lumia 920 numbers have exceeded 2.5 million, slightly less than the total number of Lumia Windows Phones sold in the last quarter combined. If this is accurate, we are seeing massive demand for not only Nokia's flagship handset, but Windows Phone 8 as well.

We'll remain skeptical and believe that simply not enough stock is available, but there's always the possibility...

The JBL Nokia PowerUp speaker, much like the Lumia 920, is hard to find these days with supplies running low from many retailers. In fact, cyan and white versions of the pricey accessory are quite rare with black being a lot easier to purchase.

Ours just showed up today so we figured we would give you a quick unboxing and our initial thoughts on the experience. The JBL Nokia PowerUP packs two 10W  2.5” full range drivers, Qi wireless charging, NFC for instant pairing and of course Bluetooth 2.1 streaming all for $250-299, depending on where you go.

Damian Dinning, Head of Cameras and Imaging at Nokia, has decided to leave the company, effective November 30th, 2012. It comes as a blow to the Finnish manufacturer as Dinning joined Nokia back in 2004 and brought with him years of experience in cameras and photography, with the likes of Minolta UK and Eastman Kodak under his belt.

Have you been thinking of getting the Nokia Lumia 810 on T-Mobile? You should as it's a swell phone (our review will be coming this weekend). If you have thought about it, tomorrow may be your day as it looks like T-Mobile is on the cusp of unleashing their Black Friday sale.

Heading to their sale page, you can clearly see the Lumia 810 going for $0. That's roughly $150 off the original price (T-Mobile has it for $99 but that is only after a $50 mail in rebate, so it's actually $150 up front).

(Editor's Note: Our Windows Phone Central app developer, Jay Bennett, weighs in on the Lumia 920, the HTC 8X and his experience with both. PS It's his birthday today, so take it easy on him!)

With the release of Windows Phone 8 there is something of a rivalry forming between the HTC 8X, the ‘Signature Windows Phone’, and the Nokia Lumia 920, arguably the flagship Windows Phone in terms of hardware & features.

Whilst many consumers have already made their decision we know that some will still be mulling over the options, or perhaps contemplating one due to unavailability of the other.

It is to those people that I direct this article, we are not interested in fuelling the culture of blindly supporting one device (or even manufacturer) over the other, which honestly I would like to see stop. The simple fact is there are two awesome top end devices available right now and you have the luxury of choice, you lucky consumer you.

Nokia has published a video on its YouTube channel. It's an interview with Marko Ahtisaari, Head of the Nokia Design Team, who talks about the Lumia 920. Revealing how the team pays close attention to minute details (hardware buttons, glass, etc.), he goes into explaining how the team wanted to ensure the build quality of the Windows Phone is at such a level so when consumers take the device out the pocket while outside, they're not concerned about its protection and cover it in bulky cases.

The other day we reported on the super secret deadmau5 show occurring at the end of the month (Wednesday 28th November) in conjunction with Nokia. Much like the last show, which was to quote some of our California friends 'hella cool', the new deadmau5 concert is meant to celebrate the launch of Nokia's new Lumia lineup.

Why the UK consistently gets these awesome shows and not the US (or elsewhere) we'll never know...

If you follow the stock market, today was an interesting day to be a Nokia investor as the stock jumped over 12% to close at $3.31 a share. For the last 8 weeks, Nokia’s stock has been hovering around the $2.65 mark—sometimes going up slightly, sometimes going down—but always around that price point. But for the last few days, it’s been creeping up with a big explosion today, actually peaking at $3.40 before coming down slightly before the close of the market.

We just ordered a JBL-Nokia PowerUp speaker last night but we're kicking ourselves now as Verizon has a great deal for the black version. While locations like AT&T and some online retailers are selling the monster speaker for $299, Verizon has it for just $249.99. That $50 savings is nothing to sneeze at as it makes the Nokia accessory a little bit more in reach for those considering it.

A lot of times we get asked which Windows Phone is the best. That’s a big decision since no phone can truly be the undisputed winner when there are so many variables to consider.

A Lumia 920 could be perfect for me, but if you Skype a lot you might prefer the 8X and the extra space in your pocket. That being said, Nokia does like to differentiate itself from other Windows Phone OEM’s with software exclusives and some great customer service. For example, Windows Phone Central forum member lsmachado received some stellar customer service from the Finnish company and has shared the experience with us.

This story should fill you with warmth and tide you over until you’ve been stuffed with Turkey...
