OneGuide

Microsoft has finally brought the Xbox OneGuide and digital TV tuner to Australia, which will soon enable consumers in the region to take advantage of not only the latest games, but also favorite TV shows on the Xbox One. The OneGuide is available as of today in preview form, meaning that only those in the Xbox One Preview program will be able to use the feature for the time being.

Just ahead of Build, Microsoft has previewed a new update to SmartGlass which pulls in all of the OneGuide functions to your mobile. That means you’ll be able to flip through what’s on TV, change the station, and use your device as a TV remote (including powering your set on and off). These features are only rolling out to select Live members in Canada, the U.S., and Europe for the time being.

Xbox One will require a paid subscription to access the console’s OneGuide (TV Guide), Game DVR service, Skype, and new SmartMatch service. We aren’t extremely surprised about the news, but now we can confirm what we suspected.
