Clipr is a relatively new photography app for Windows Phone 8 that lets you clip parts of one picture and paste it into another picture. Clipr also has tools to selectively blur portions of photos, merge two photos into one and create Start Screen background wallpapers.

After using Clipr over the past few days, while the app could use a little fine-tuning, the app comes across as a creative photography tool for our Windows Phones well worth a try.

Fhotoroom is a popular Windows Phone photography app that is part social network, part photo editor and part camera app. Fhotoroom can be used as a standalone app or you can register to share your photos with other Fhotoroom members. The Fhotoroom photo editor covers the basics, filters, and frame while the camera app offers you a decent amount of control over the Windows Phone camera.

The Windows Phone 8 version of Fhotoroom was recently updated to version 11, which has a healthy change log. The most notable additions with the update include an in-app store with free and paid for filters and a few new editing tools.

Tiny Planets Pro is a fantastic photography app for Windows Phone 8. The app turns your panoramic or landscape images into tiny little planets by wrapping the image into a sphere that often resembles a planet spinning around the solar system. And it's not just useful for landscapes. Tiny Planets Pro can also put a creative twist to images other than the scenic variety.

Tiny Planets Pro does not take long to transform your images and once you have things just right, the final image can be saved and shared with other Windows Phone apps. There is not much to Tiny Planets Pro but if you are looking for a creative photo tool for your images, it’s definitely worth a try.

PhotoLab is a relatively new Windows Phone 8 photography app that allows you to add filters and effects to your Windows Phone photos.

PhotoLab currently has nineteen, stackable filters that can give your images a more unique appearance. PhotoLab is a relatively basic photo editor, limited to applying filters to your images, that has a straightforward design that some may find appealing. However, some may see the filter selection a little on the limited side.

If you like the selective color editing to your Windows Phone photos, you need to try the Windows Phone app Sense the Color. The photography app allows you to reveal only the colors you want in your photographs. Prefer only the colors in a flower to shine through while leaving the rest of your photograph in black and white, Sense the Color can do that.

Sense the Color has an easy user interface, the ability to share edited images within the app, and is a creative way to add a little pop to your photos. While I wouldn't mind seeing a few more editing tools added to the app, Sense the Color is a welcomed addition to the Windows Phone photography library.

Two popular Windows Phone photography apps are in the process of being updated. Fhotoroom is a Windows Phone app that combines a photo editor, photo-sharing network and camera app under one roof. Fhotolens, from the same developer, is a camera app for Windows Phone 8 that is fitted with a virtual 10-24mm lens to offer a fish-eyed perspective on things.

The developer, Thomas Lock, is constantly working to improve these two apps and has released updates for both the Windows Phone 8 and 7.x versions of Fhotoroom. The version 1.8 update for Fhotolens had to be pulled to address a few bugs and should be rolling out in a few days (submitted for certification this past Friday).

It has been some time since we last visited the Windows Phone photography app Sketch.  It is a simple, yet effective way to turn your photographs into pencil sketches.  The app was recently updated and rebranded to PicSketch.  The update also offers a revised user interface that the developers hope is more engaging.

The original was not too shabby within its own right but the updated version does seem to have a bit more gusto.  The concept is still the same but the design changes works rather well making PicSketch a Windows Phone photography app worth a try.

Phototastic is a feature rich Windows Phone photography app that is part photo editor and part photo-collage builder.  For those who like working from a larger screen, Phototastic is also available for Windows 8 devices as well.

To celebrate the New Year, the developer has slashed the price of the Windows Phone version in half.  It also appears that the in-app purchases on the Windows 8 version has been bundled and discounted.   Through January 1, 2014, the Window Phone version will be discounted to $1.49 (regular price $2.99).

If you’ve been using Fhotoroom, then you should know the app has just received a noteworthy update. The app logo has changed and there are a few tweaks in the user interface. Let’s take a look at the full change log.

8-Rotate is a handy Windows Phone 8 app that will help straighten out slanted photos.  We all take crooked photos from time to time and 8-Rotate will not only help you straighten things out but also will let you crop the corrected images.

There isn’t much to 8 Rotate and while the app can come in handy to adjust those tilted photos, the photography app could use a little fine-tuning.

Fhotoroom is a very popular Windows Phone and Windows 8 photography app.  It combines a healthy photo editor, a decent camera app and a photo-sharing network into a well designed app.

While Fhotoroom is a free app for both Windows Phone and Windows 8, add-on packs are available for in-app purchase with the Windows 8 version that added editing filters and brushes as well as removing the ads in the gallery.  The charge was minimal and helped cover the server costs.

Apict is a rather handy Windows Phone photography app that dates back to the days of Windows Phone 7.  Apict offers photo editing to give your pictures that retro Polaroid look.  The app has been consistently through the years and remains a solid performer.

Apict received another update today, taking the app to version 4.6.  The update mainly deals with fixing a few bugs but also comes with a temporary price reduction.

Phox is a straightforward Windows Phone photography app that lets you crop, add creative filters, and share your creations with friends and family.  The app was recently updated to version 1.5, which adds a few changes to the user interface and a handful of new filters.

You now have a home button that returns you to Phox’s start page after you have save or shared your image.  This may not sound like a huge change but it does eliminate the need to repeatedly tap the Windows Phone Back Button when you need to return to the start page.

Pic2share is a very simple photo-editing app that you might want to check out. It’s great for those who might be intimidated by more advanced editing apps like Fhotoroom.

It’s developed by college student, Thomas Tsopanakis, and powered by the Nokia Imaging SDK. We've covered a few of Tsopanakis's apps before, including Countdown, Galleries and InstaBlender. Are we fans of his work? You betcha.

Head past the break to see our walkthrough video of this outstanding app.

Smart Resize first hit the radar last month as the winning app in Nokia's Future Capture contest. The Windows Phone 8 photography app is now available over in the Windows Phone Store and takes an interesting approach to editing things out of your photos.

Instead of cloning or cropping unwanted items or empty space out of your photo, Smart Resize downsamples the image. It utilizes a content-aware scale algorithm that differentiates between the less important and more important parts of the image.

In a manner of speaking, Smart Resize squeezes out the unwanted areas of your photos.
